Can God overcome me !

Can God overcome me !

Many things God cannot do

He cannot lie

He cannot repent

He cannot do anything outside of His character

He cannot get tired "note : Genesis 2:2 )

He cannot forget unless He forgives and then He forgets in which case He cannot remember

He cannot do something that is not in His will

So God is in me !

I lie, I get tired, I repent, I can act out of character, I can forget to forgive and choose to not remember !

I can act against Gods will

Can God overcome me ?

Generational curses and Spiritual freedom

Generational curses and Spiritual freedom

Adam and Eve can be said to be perfect in ! "In Gods eyes"

But it could be said that Adam and Eve were not perfect...for if they were
then there would be no temptation [as temptation comes from an inner desire]

But being created with free will created  the ability to be tempted

But Without free will, how could Adam and Eve have loved freely ?

A tempter had been thrown down to the earth

And Adam and Eve were tempted by the tempter

before Adam and Eve were ever created  .....satan was in heaven with God

becaming  proud and wanting to ascend the heights to be God himself

You might see this as a temptation without anyone being the tempter

In this we could conlude that satan although created perfect Ezekiel 28:12 was
perfect in Gods eyes, but in fact was not perfect as in "perfection" as God is

For he too had the ability of free will, being a created being

The only One whom was never created being God

Romans 5:19 says :

"For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one
 shall many be made righteous"

Some may say "generational curses" do not exist

But we see that through one man all were made sinners

the curse being to  "toil in order to eat"  "thorns and thistles" eating the plants of the field"
and "The pain of childbirth would increase"

this would infer that 'Adam and Eve could have had children in the original creation"

In this many through "spiritual" rebirth will be made righteous by the obedience of One

the big bang

Genesis 1:3

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

In the beginning was God and from the chaotic mass God caused this to spread out across space

This is what scientist call "the big bang"

Not because there was a noise

But because some kind of inner force must have caused this mass to expand out into the space and as the mass expands out so to the space we know that 0=0 and nothing will always equal nothing

Only The Creator could create out of nothing and only One whom was never created

Whereas satan can only create chaos within the confines of that which God created

God could be the only person being eternal to be able to create the material that caused the sudden expanse of all that we know

You cannot begin with nothing as 0=0 so to begin you must have a mass or material this being created by God and then from this chaotic mass God said "let there be light"

The big bang is just a way of the scientist explaining exactly the same thing but without identifying God as the Author I see no reason why science cannot work alongside the Christian belief

The gift of salvation

1 Peter 3:20-21  20 who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water. 21 Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you?not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience?through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

Here eight souls were saved, but a few

The Ark being a "type " of Christ and anyone who enters by faith and believes shall be saved

And how do they enter the Ark ?  who shall go and tell them ?

Isaiah 6:8  8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, ?Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?? Then I said, ?Here am I. Send me!?

This in turn means that those who do not enter will perish but those who do enter by the narrow door will live

A stumbling block to some 1 Peter 2:8 yet to others the power and life to run the race

Here too Noah preached and foretold /prophesied and proclaimed yet none listened until it was too late

And so it will be 2 Timothy 3 in the end times when there will be giving and taking of marriage and all is well until suddenly like a thief in the night He will come to take His bride

Now align this alongside

Genesis 6:20  Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature
that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive.  see Matthew 24:37-39

these animals being directed by the clouds of angels  to the ark

And we see  Peters vision in

Acts 10:11 But he became hungry and was desiring to eat; but while they were making preparations, he fell into a trance; 11and he saw the sky opened up, and an object like a great sheet coming down, lowered by four corners to the ground, 12and there were in it all kinds of four-footed animals and crawling creatures of the earth and birds of the air

Yes the mystery of the calling of the gentiles, saved through faith believing and being baptised through the waters

You could say "along with Noah and His family"

And the sheet enters now the sheet that Peter saw being the   Church  stretching out across the four corners of the earth

Its commission to go and preach and foretell  / that which was foretold  and proclaimed

Here in the same way as Moses killed the egyptian slave master and hid him in the sand so to the descendants of Abraham would be as numerous and the sand on the shore - the sand having a multiple meaning being a metaphor as we die to let Jesus live [a type of Moses]

And the body being hidden in the sand a kind of "treasure" that can be found  Matthew 13:44

Being a "type"  of treasure  that needs to be dug up and this being the 2Kingdom of God" or the "scripture" which we dig into to discover the hidden meanings

And so in this we see the seven days Acts 21:4 and the seven disciples John 21:1 becoming twelve

Being sent out two by two Mark 6:7 into the world to preach the gospel proclaiming the news - preaching and foretelling /prophesying and proclaiming the good news of salvation

That none should perish but all should have eternal life, being saved through the waters

The Gift of Life

So in this is a paradox in that God knowing satan would fall and take a third of heavens armies with him, created satan with free will out of Love because Love being a creative force will always create and continue to create

God created satan out of His Love knowing that this would in fact create chaos in His creation and inevitably bring down his beloved "children" of the earth ...who He also loved

Both having free will to decide within Gods Love, whether to stay there

bringing into being,  a fall where we now "Outside of Gods love" but being loved , have the free will to decide whether to walk back into it

In Gods foreknowing knowledge He took Himself to the Cross as a "Son" thus giving us the "free will" to decide

In this we have "Real Love" where we are not robots but people willingly laying down our lifes to be saved

Rather than being forced to love, which is no love at all

And so lets wrap this up by going to the book of Revelations

And in this study we have gone in three steps from Genesis to the story of Jacob and Esau and
now to the book of revelations and this is where we journey in the next series of studies

Revelation 12:17 Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to make war
against the rest of her offspring--those who obey God's commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus.

So the dragon of old persecuted and persued the woman (Church)

Whether this be the Church of Old Genesis 22:17 and the seed thereof

Or the Church Romans 8:11

this dragon...the serpent of old Revelation 12:15 being in emnity Genesis 3:15 and waging war against the children that the "woman"  bore

Though the dragon could not destroy the Church, he endeavoured to devour the lifes of those who were known as "saints" being covered by the Blood of the Lamb Romans 8:31

he "the serpent " made war aginst the "remnant of her seed" this being the children of God

And he was at "emnity" with "the Manchild" Revelation 12:1-17

Here we see the the prophetic word being outworked in history, from Genesis 3:15 to
the biblical end of the prophetic word

But we know that the word of God does not end at revelations, for that which is not written still
awaits to be seen and that which is not seen still awaits to be revealed

So those who bore the testimony of Jesus being the "seed of the woman" saw and were a part (were, are and will be) of the emnity ..the raging war that was fought and won yet being fought and to be concluded in Revelation 20:10

In this we see a  "God created enmity" something that happened due to and since  the
disobedience of Man and resulting in the  fall, being a curse Genesis 3:17

So the "bruising  of  the head"  is the serpents end , a death blow and a fatal wound being that the serpent or dragon lost the key to death and death no longer has its sting 1 Corinthians 15:55

Yet "The bruising  of  the heel"  being that the  promised seed would suffer Hebrews 2:14-15

In Revelation 20:1-2 we see the link here between the serpent of old that was in the garden of Eden and the dragon eg:

"He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil"

And in this and at this time we see the "Judgement of satan" Revelation 20:10

The "final blow to the head being Revelation 20:1–15 and this is where we have this scripture
Romans 16:20

Psalm 91:13 this relating to the devil being the serpent or asp and the lion or dragon 1 Peter 5:8

Now lets go to Galatians 4:4 where God sent His Son born of "a woman" under the "law"

Under the law being that Jesus was born in : nature of humanity being born and raised and
subjected to the fall (in that he aged and was born)  and raised under jewish law, being both
under the precept of it  and under the curse

In this we have  Immanuel - God with us - Isaiah 7:14

Whereas the curse upon mankind has brought death , so  Immanuel brought a sharp blow to
the generational curse by ending it and taking the "key"

For though I was born "in sin" as it states in Psalm 51:5  and though we are sinners by nature and
so although Mary was born in this, Jesus never sinned in that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit
being a "life giving Spirit" 1 Corinthians 15:45

And so the "seed of the woman" Galatians 3:16 isJesus and all who are part of "The Church"

the seed being the seed as numerous as the stars in the sky being that the have inside them "The Manchild"

And so Christ became a curse for us Galatians 3:13 on the Cross , that is He took the punishment
we deserved , the curse of the Law being the curse which is due to sin, nailing it to the Cross

For death is the wages of sin Romans 6:23, in other words "the curse was to take our place"

And there will be a time when the enmity will be at an end and all will be revealed, as yet we
see a poor reflection but then all will be revealed on the day of "Revelation" 1 Corinthians 13:12

The Gift Of God , Part 9

HE HAS CRUSHED THE ENEMY UNDER OUR FEET so that the earth might be our footstool Job 23:11

see also Psalm 18:38 therefore we are seated with Him Ephesians 2:6 and we are ore than overcomers
Romans 8:37

In Genesis God tells Adam and Eve to subdue the earth and in as we are raised up with Him who
overcame the world, we too can overcome the enemy that is death

And now a letter to the Church in Rome  and Paul writes "Jesus the prince of peace will
soon crush Satan under our  feet" (my own words) Romans 16:20

Here Paul commends sister Phoebe, a servant of the church in Cenchre to the Church In Rome

And speaks of division in the Church and the victory of Christ Jesus and His death on the Cross

Winning  the victory over death and overcoming the world, or subdueing it Genesis 1:28 and was
victorious as Mankind was to subdue the earth so too Jesus subdued death and in this He put the enemy
under our feet to crush death and to lead a victorious procession of saints in His train

John 16:33  And He who overcome the world - overcame the prince of this world  John 12:31
being the second Adam

"For judgment I have come into this world, John 9:39 so that the blind will see and those who
see will become blind.

This being the present judgement of God John 12:47 Jesus did not come to judge the world but to
save it

Here in this we see differing types of judgement, as Jesus comes into the world not to judge but to
save yet He lays judgement upon mankind as too those who will be saved  and those who will not

As too... we judge Matthew 7:1  You judge by human standards; John 8:15 I pass judgment on no one
being a differing type a judgement being human judgement

Stop judging by mere appearances 1 Samuel 16:7, and make a right judgment.John 7:24

Matthew 13:30  is past judgement and the divide is already at work in the field

Paul's confidence that they "would" gain the victory

"Satan" is Hebrew, meaning originally "an accuser, a calumniator,"

So satan creates discord in the church, this is a division going on in the Church in Rome and paul
states "The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet" now look for the Cross reference
Genesis 3:15

Satan can be used here for a  collective term meaning the dark forces or sopitual forces at work
within the body to create division

The Son of God was manifested, to destroy the works of the devil" in 1 John 3:8

So the Church of Jesus Christ has overcame as Jesus has overcome

And there is an  the emnity that comes form  satan and this emnity is serving to create discord
and disunity within the body of Christ 2 Corinthians 11:15

Herein satan cannot overcome and will be triodden down by the saints as Jesus has ALREADY overcome

And in this we celebrate
Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

The Doorway

The opening of heaven is  figurative : and places a picture in our minds of a doorway

In Psalm 78 God does not open up the heavens like opening a door with His hands but rather
this is a way of explaination

Jesus having this doorway to the Father and all who believe and walk with Him having this
same communication and doorway whereby the messenger angels are sent back and forth
to aid and protect, to comfort and to strengthen ( not that God could not do His work without
angels , but that He chooses to use them) Even so He may and can do all these things without
angels Mark 9:7  Matthew 3:17

John 1:51 Jesus being the mediator between God and man, the intercessor Hebrews 7:25

Jacobs ladder in Genesis 28:10-22 was a dream : see  Joel 2:28  and Acts 2:17 and a God
given dream and this dream could be said to symbolise a Christians ongoing relationship
and walk with God as messages go back and forth and heart responses rebound from us to
God and God to us

Now note Joel 2:28  and Acts 2:17 and you might say "the last days began at pentecost"
because this was when God poured out His Spirit on all mankind and after the death of The Son
Of God, the Spiirt was to stay and indwell (Incarnation) , rather than "coming upon people"

But that is not to say that the "Gifts" were not operating before the resurrection of Christ

Nor does it mean that old men did not dream dreams or for that matter young men

Old men can dream dreams given by God as well as young and old men can have visions as well
as young

Yes visions, dreams, pictures, parables, metaphores and many more could all be placed into one

The ladder Of reconciliation

So Jacob had a dream and what a gift !

Now remember we looked at Genesis 32:23-34 ? and the wrestling with God ?

Genesis 32:30 “
I have seen God face to face, yet my life has been preserved.”
ok so now we go to the reuniting of Jacob and Esau  and from emnity to reconciliation

JACOB MEETS ESAU  Genesis 28:12

Genesis 35:10
Jacob; your name will be Israel." So he named him Israel.
in Genesis 32 Jacob sets off the find Esau and angels (messengers) come to meet him !

As Jacob is on his way he sends gifts to Esau, (gifts to men)  and in Genesis 32:3 Jacob
sends messengers ahead to greet Esau

And hearing from the messengers that Esau was coming with 400 men he is terrified

So Jacob prays in verse 9 (doorway) and Jacob remembers the promise of God that He would
make Jacobs descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and the sand on the shore read
Genesis 32:12

So Jacob kept sending groups ahead as "messengers" with gifts

This was just before Jacob wrestled with God ! then after the wrestling and seeing God face to

Jacob and Esau are reunited and the are reconciled

And in Genesis 33:10 he says
“No please!” said Jacob. “If I have found favor in your eyes, accept
this gift from me. For to see your face is like seeing the face of God, now that you have received
 me favorably” (NIV).
And so to prevail with God is to prevail with man

To be reconciled with God is to have reconciliation with man

To see Gods face is to meet with a brother face to face

Proverbs 16:7
When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace
with him.
All this for the reconciliation of mankind !

Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

The Gift Of God , Part 7

posted Dec 21, 2012, 6:54 PM by tes johnson   [ updated Jan 10, 2014, 4:47 PM ]

Now lets jump to the first Adam  Genesis 2:7

the first adam could not die ! and was created rather than born

Adam was created to be in everlasting communion with God and this was the way it was intended to be
or should we say  "made to be" and from the first Adam, made in the image of God, others were reborn or are reborn and continue to be reborn  Psalm 104:30

But although God created things this way and in this design, He also forknew that mankind would fall
(being an all seeing all knowing God)

Whereby it is not "sin" that affects us now but rather the result of sin which is the "fall"
and We live in a fallen world

Through one man sin entered the world Romans 5:12 and all have sinned and fallen short Romans 3:23

But as we are reborn ( or born from the original created Adam in the line of )and enter a fallen
world we can be "born again" thus our sins are forgiven and forgotten

Thus we who are seen by God as being covered by the blood of the Lamb are spotless

Even so we still sin being those sins that we know of which are repented of or those sins we are
not aware of which are forgiven

With this in mind we still live in a fallen world and are subject to its decay, being that our bodies
along with all created things are subject to decay

And with this we age and are subject to the fall

With the second Adam, unlike the first Adam we see a "Life giving Spirit"  1 Corinthians 15:45 being born or reborn from the line of human kind yet coming from heaven

So the Son of God could die and indeed that was His mission, to die on a Cross, that His life giving
Spirit could dwell with all , all the time

Unlike the First Adam (before the fall)Jesus could age and was subject to the fall, even though He never sinned

And at death gave up His Spirit Luke 23:46 and not being of this world He suffered and died

This to reconcile man to God

this is why Jesus was the Life Giving Spirit who was subject to the fall  yet never sinned that He might die so that His Spirit might be with all for eternity as was intended in the beginning

All this for the reconciliation of man to God

so now we jump back to the story of Jacob and Esau

Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

The Gift Of God, Part Six

posted Dec 18, 2012, 6:07 AM by tes johnson   [ updated Jan 10, 2014, 4:47 PM ]

We have seen  "predestination" Romans 8:29-30  Ephesians 1:4-5
and "foreknowledge" 1 Peter 1:1-2 mentioned here in the Jacob story

And how the early genesis scriptures (prophetic) point to the Messiah and the Cross

And the working of the hands (toil of the flesh) and the working of God (offering pleasing to God)

So with this I want to stop at the "wrestling of Jacob with God" for a moment

We know also that the earth is Gods footstool and everything is under Gods feet

It is not saying that "God has feet" although we are made in His image but that

"He is above all things " and nothing is above God

This big and mighty God who is above all things and stronger fought with Jacob or "wrestled"

Now some might say that "The Angel" was Jesus and some might say "it was an angel"

We know that Angels are far more powerful than a mere man and that the "spiritual" is far
greater and bigger than the physical realm ! and we have seen and know that the erath "is Gods footstool"
and that nothing can contain Him

Now here you could say that "God wrestled with Jacob !"

So what is this about then ?

Well we could see this in the light of the foreseen "struggles of Gods chosen ones"

And the wrestling of Israel with God the King of :

Jacob being renamed  "Israel"  which means “He struggles with God”

We could associate  see this in the Light of our own struggles as we wrestle in prayer or wrestle
in life and wrestle in these light and momentary struggles 2 Corinthians 4:17

We could also see it as "the equipping and strengthening of Jacob" for the task ahead

so here we related it to : past present and future

But how did Jacob find the strength to wrestle with God ?

and How did Jacob see Gods face and live ?

You could say that Jacob found "spiritual strength"

In that "God bore the  office of two persons" , showing in Jacob more strength than He put
forth in the Angel"  .....God wrestling with God ? no no but rather "now at present " putting into you
a strength that comes from Him to overcome and to wrestle as unto Him, So  God could not prevail against Jacob !

So God has "predestined" Genesis 49:3  Revelation 3:14  Deuteronomy 21:17

So that Jacob struggled with the Angel and overcame Him Hosea 12:4  Genesis 48:16

And you might look at John 14:12 at this point

The angel being "Jesus" the same Angel "of the Lord" that went before the Israelites in the desert

In this strength we walk being grafted in. not that we are stronger than God but that we have "Gods
strength" AS we walk in Him and Him in us "the office of two persons"

And in this we imitate and draw a parallel with our own lifes now

Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!
