THE SABBATH REST

The Seventh Day.SOAR ON THE RUACH WINDS:

EXODUS 16 v 4 - 34: v.27:

Nevertheless, some of the people went out on the seventh day to gather it, but they found none. 28 Then the LORD said to Moses, "How long will you refuse to keep my commands and my instructions?

Bear in mind that the LORD has given you the Sabbath; that is why on the sixth day he gives you bread for two days. Everyone is to stay where he is on the seventh day; no one is to go out." 30 So the people rested on the seventh day.

(Matt. 12 v 8: For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."

I always find it amazing how God can speak through so many different people...no matter where they might be in the world..about the same thing and then bring these people together at just the right time and the right place.

Time and time I have made notes and gone to a meeting or gone to my local Church and the preacher/minister...whoever might be speaking at that time has given a message on the same scripture or scriptures. Or the person preaching has given the very same message as the one I have written down days before...I just can't help but be amazed. As I began to write this very page the Minister speaking on that same morning gave this story and I will share it now and you will see how this fits in with this message.

The story is of a man who was caught illegaly trapping eagles ..for sale on the black market..he was given bail pending investigations.But the eagles were put into various cages. The man responsible for taking care of the eagles knew that if these

creatures were kept in this cage for too long they would die. He knew that whereas the man responsible for trapping these birds might walk free..these birds were condemned to death. There was no way these wild birds would survive in this cage for long, in these conditions... After some time went by the investigations seemed to be going nowhere, and the man responsible for looking after the eagles decided one day to release these birds..even though it could mean losing his job. He opened this large enclosure ( cage ) and waving his arms around and screaming with all that he could muster chased the birds out of the cage.

After this he was frightened of going back to look but after several hours went back to investigate...to his amazement ....all the birds were back in the cage. Some had just walked straight back in...some had flown away but come straight back... they had grown used to their captivity..this is where their food and comfort was..instead of flying and soaring like an eagle..here they were...condemned to death..in a cage. Even though they could have flown away...even though they were free.. even though they could have soared above the cage...they chose to stay in that cage.

SUNDAYS ?

I always remember as a boy..I could never understand what sundays were all about..I was not brought up in a Christian family and most of the families I knew of never went to Church. Sunday was a boring day..when you overslept..watched TV..ate your

sunday roast..watched more TV..and slept... All the shops were closed...the streets were empty...I can remember

the quietness of sundays..the roads would be deserted.. WHAT WAS ALL THIS ABOUT ? I could never understand.. I wondered as a boy ..why everything stopped on a sunday...it was as if everyone had gone to sleep ? Now the story is quite different, society is changing fast, with the change in the sunday trading laws in the UK..life has changed. More people are now working on sundays, the roads in my area are busier now on a sunday than during the week..sunday has become a day

to do all the chores that cannot be done during the week.. People now queue up to dispose of rubbish at the local tip on a sunday, ..go to the car boot sale..do the weeks shopping..get that DIY job done.. I have noticed Churches displaying notices for two services in the mornings and no evening service..Churches that hold services during the week or on saturdays.

Society is changing fast...so what is this about ?

( The Old Testament is full of ' Types ' and ' shadows '

People will often refer to three scriptures concerning the sabbath..and rest..

CREATION.

Genesis 2: 3:

“God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it; because in it He had rested from all His work which God created and made,”

God rested on the seventh day ? Does God need to rest ?

You See.....it is no longer external rules and regulations..the bread

of life is in us:

Exodus 20 v 8:

"Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates.

11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Jesus on the Cross said " IT IS FINISHED "

THE SEVENTH DAY:

I believe THIS is the Seventh Day.. These are the last days..Gods word says .,

" In the Last days I shall pour out my Spirit " I believe..the last days began at Pentecost...

Gods word says ...." In former days God spoke through the prophets..but in THESE last days God speaks through His Son "

I believe these ARE The last days..This is the seventh day:...........So what am I saying ? what is the message ?

Is this message saying ' Do not go to Church ' ? NO ..of course not, I believe what God is saying is this.. DO NOT BIND YOURSELF UP IN RULES AND REGULATIONS...DO NOT BIND OTHERS UP.

If you go to a Church to fellowship with other believers during the week..then fine, if you go to Church or should I say " go to meet and share what you have and have been given with other believers on a saturday " then fine. If you are a new believer and do not yet go to meet with other believers yet ( for whatever reason ) then listen to God and seek Him. DO NOT.. say to a new Christian. " You should not do this or that.. You should not be doing this because Christians do not do that kind of

thing " You are helping to pull the rope around that person and tie the knot, Christians sometimes have enough problems getting tangled up by them selves without anyones help. What do I mean by this ? well I give another example: As a new Christian..God took me as I was..HE SET ME FREE..but although I had come out of the world..I brought some of the world with me, ( Egypt ) One day I went to buy something from a shop after church ( bearing in mind this was 25 years ago ) an elderly lady..who was the mother inlaw of the pastor..saw me coming out of the shop and said.. " You are a Christian..you should not be shopping on a sunday " You see..this lady was putting her own rope around me and not knowing

any better I apologised. Who did Jesus mix with ? was it the pharisees and the saducees ? Or was it the tax collectors and prostitutes ? Were did these people meet once saved ? Did they meet once a week ? or did they share their lifes everyday ?

Is sunday more Holy than Monday ? Or are we Holy ? Is sunday the day we give to the Lord and set apart ? Or is everyday the day that we give to the Lord and set apart ? Are we set apart ? or the day ? Is the seventh day a change of lifestyle ?

Now this blew me away.

One morning while I was working, I had the picture/vision of a Star... the star was six sided..this kept coming back to my mind and as usual I could not understand what this picture meant. What did this Star have to do with anything ? especially as I was

meditating on the sabbath day scriptures ? I had no idea what this meant at all.. then when I was looking into this.....I decided to look up what this star meant. ie: The Star of David is called the Shield of David: According to some Judaic sources, the Star/Shield of David signifies the number seven: that is, the six points plus the center. The number seven has religious significance in Judaism, e.g., the six days of Creation plus the seventh day of rest, the six working days in the week plus Shabbat, the Seven Spirits of God. You see ? This is what it is all about !! This is what God is saying. ...Six sides...six days of creation...on the sixth day God created man ? What for ?

THE SEVENTH DAY.....you see ! The center is the seventh Day..all else comes from the center...Jesus is the center. All things revolve around Him..It IS NOT ABOUT GOING TO CHURCH ON A SUNDAY.

THE SEVENTH DAY IS ABOUT RELATIONSHIP...WITH JESUS AT THE CENTER:

Church is the body that you want to meet with to share what you have and what you have been given..Church is meeting with other Christians to give glory to God as a body of believers.

BUT EVERY DAY IS A HOLY DAY..EVERY DAY IS GIVEN TO GOD..EVERY DAY IS THE SEVENTH DAY...WITH JESUS AT THE CENTER.

THIS IS THE SEVENTH DAY:

Every day should be a part of Our Worship...not just sundays.... Every day is a Holy Day..because WE are Holy:

Every day is Church because WE ARE the Church:....When we meet together as a Christian family it is the outpouring or

the overflow of that which is in us !

In other words we would WANT to meet with other Christians and share what God has done in us and for us and to worship and glorify God TOGETHER:

Do not bind yourself or others up..with rules and regulations concerning new moon celebrations or ? ...Do not say ..A Christian should not do this or that ,,,No you are helping to bind the person that Jesus is freeing...you are closing the cage door Is sunday more Holy than other days ? or are WE HOLY ? ......So what is the Sabbath Rest ?

As I keep saying and will say again...the promised land is not just a place we go to when we leave our bodies and depart from this Earth ! The promised land is the life that God would want for us NOW..to live the life and to walk in the way He would want for us.

It is about entering His Rest NOW:

NOT OUR REST....( on a sunday )........HIS REST..( Every Day ) ............NOT OUR WORKS.....HIS WORKS

NOT OUR WILL......HIS WILL.....................................................NOT WHAT WE WANT...WHAT HE WANTS

NOT OUR SABBATH REST.....HIS SABBATH REST.....JESUS AT THE CENTRE.........JESUS IS OUR SABBATH:

JESUS IS LORD OF THE SABBATH:

Hebrews 3 v 7 onwards:

7So, as the Holy Spirit says:

"Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, 8during the time of testing in the desert,

9where your fathers tested and tried me and for forty years saw what I did. 10That is why I was angry with that generation, and I said, 'Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.' 11So I declared on oath in my anger,

"They shall never enter my rest.' 12See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.

And: v16:

Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt? 17And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the desert? 18And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed ? 19So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief.

Hebrews 4 v 1:

Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it.

3Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said, "So I declared on oath in my anger, They shall never enter my rest.' " And yet his work has been finished since the creation of the world. 4For somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in these words: "And on the seventh day God rested from all his work." 5And again in the passage above he says, "They shall never enter my rest." 6, It still remains that some will enter that rest, and those who formerly had the gospel preached to them did not go in, because of their disobedience. 7Therefore God again set a certain day, calling it Today, when a long time later he spoke through David, as was said before: "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts."[d] 8For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day. 9There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; 10for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his. 11Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience.

NOTE:

And yet his work has been finished since the creation of the world.

JESUS SAID " IT IS FINISHED ".....THERE IS ANOTHER DAY:....THE PROMISE OF ENTERING HIS REST..STILL STANDS.

Listen:

Ps 95:7-11

"For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you would hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, As in the day of Massah in the wilderness; "When your fathers tested Me, They tried Me, though they had seen My work. "For forty years I loathed that generation, And said they are a people who err in their heart, And they do not know My ways. "Therefore I swore in My anger, Truly they shall not enter into My rest."

Enter through the veil and find His rest,

What will the people who enter this rest do? What did Jesus do ? what is Jesus doing now ? Jesus said.."I AM Lord of the Sabbath,

They who enter His rest will do as Jesus did.. (Jesus through us) we are Holy:

THIS IS THE DAY OF SALVATION:...THIS IS THE SEVENTH DAY:...THIS IS THE YEAR OF JUBILEE..CHRIST HAS SET YOU FREE......THIS IS THE YEAR OF THE LORDS FAVOUR:......THIS IS THE YEAR OF LIBERTY:

....................IF CHRIST HAS SET US FREE...WE WILL BE FREE INDEED:

Does this give us license to do exactly what we would want as Christians ? OF COURSE NOT..But how does a Child learn to walk ? Every time the child tumbles over..DO YOU SHOUT..." YOU SHOULD'NT BE DOING THAT..YOU ARE A BABY..YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO WALK AS I DOOOOO "

NO...You gently encourage the baby to walk and assist him or her.....Don't forget ..if you fall over, which you will from time to time.. you will be making a much bigger noise than the baby !

God is saying " I am moving on..do not be left behind " " Let go of things that hold you down, untie those ropes from

around you, be free, for I have set you free " "Be no more chained to ropes that bind you down and keep you from

following me..enter into all that I have for you "

Do you know someone who does not behave as you believe a Christian should behave ? Do you know someone who does not do things the way you believe they should ? Does someone you know go shopping on a Sunday ? and you think this is

not right ? does someone you know go to Church during the week because they work on Sundays ? Well who set them free ? was it us ? did we give them salvation ? Do NOT tie them up, let them be free in Christ and let Jesus Christ their Savior to do His work in and through them.

Learn from the Crab ?

Fishermen after catching crabs never have to cover the nets or pots, they know that every time a crab tries to get out..the others will always pull it back in.

Are you trying to get out of that pot ? but you keep getting pulled back in ? Are you one of those people who keeps pulling those trying to escape back into captives net ? Are you trying to fly away from that cage ? do you want to soar like

the eagle ? Do you keep walking back in to the cage ? Jesus came to set the captives free......and yet we can bind ourselves

up and others up.

Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits - who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. (Psalm 103:2-5)

SOAR ON THE RUACH WINDS:

How does a baby eagle learn to fly ?

It is very comfortable being a eaglet, nice and cosy in that warm nest, you can watch mum and dad and get nice and fat on plenty of food, you do not realise at the time that you are being prepared. One day mum starts to tidy up the nest and pushes you to the side, this is very uncomfortable and you just want to get back to snuggling in your nice bed. Suddenly without warning mum pushes you off the edge of the nest and you are falling..fear grips you and you are falling and falling towards

the rocks below. She hovers overhead... " WHAT ARE YOU DOINGGG MUM...HELPPPPPP " Mum swoops down and stretching her wings out below you catches you, just in time before you are dashed on the rocks below...phewww. Back in your nest again..you consider what has just happened........When mum does it again....She pushes you to the edge of the nest ?

What a horrible mum !!!! AGAIN she gives you a nudge and down you go again and again she saves you... This keeps on happening and as you go down you wonder what on eart iis going on ? This IS NOT FAIR.....I WANT TO STAY IN THE NEST.... Eventually you realise you have wings..and as you stretch out those wings..you begin to soar for the first time..WOW.

YOU CAN FLY.....YOU ARE FREEEEEE.

(Deuteronomy 32:11)

Like an eagle that stirs up its nest and hovers over its young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them on its pinions.

(Psalm 18:16-17)

The Lord reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me because he delighted in me.

(Jude 1:24-25)

To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy.

( Exodus 19-4 )

" You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself "

The eagle rides the winds of the desert, soaring above the storms with effortless control. The Hebrew name for wind is ' ruach '

Ruach speaks of the hot air thermals that boil up from the blistering sand, causing twisting tornadoes and destructive hail. Above this the eagles soar until peace and calm once again comes to the desert.

I believe this is a prophetic message..

Are you comfortable ? What is you nest?...Is it money ? Your Work ? Your Home ? Your Mindset ?

God is about to teach you how to soar !...If you are comfortable in the place where you are.....If you are comfortable in your mindset..in your ways... in your life !...You are about to find yourself..being nudged out..you are about to find

that cage door closed....God is about to teach you how to soar and it will not be easy.

Lord God in Jesus name..you came to set the captives free..you came as a saviour...not a judge..you will come back to judge..and the first to be judged will be The House Of God. You came to redeem and to set free Lord..you came to give liberty and to untie those ropes that bind us down. Lord we thankyou that you are the center, you are the head, you are our saviour and those whom you have set free will be free indeed. Help us to soar above those circumstances and situations that would seek to drag us down, Lord we rise above the ruach storms, above the cage of mindsets and tradition, above the problems that arise in our everyday lifes...above the mountain. Lord push us out of the nest of the merry go round which seems to keep us comfortable and into the life that you would want for us. Into the promised land that you have prepared..to find your rest.. in Jesus name amen.
