We are not going to go through every miracle of God obviously and some would not view all

these as "Acts Of God"

James 5:17

and so Elijah prayed for no rain ? why did he do this ? could this be the Lords will ?

The people under Ahab were worshipping baal and sending babies to their death in order to worship

a false god , this false god had behind it "hidden demons" and the odor of this sin had reached the

nostrils of our God ( an abomination)

This worship of demons could go on from generation to generation and many many generations could have

died as a result

Thus God acted and placed in the heart of Elijah an urge to end this insanity of humankind

Thus Elijah prayed to the Lord

...................

Here in Luke 4:25-29 we see the Lord Jesus Himself preaching on the sabbath day which was a saturday

in the Luke 4:25 in the Synagogue

Here the people drove out Jesus because they were furious, yet it was not the time for Jesus to be

thrown off a cliff and He walked straight through the crowd and continued on His way

..........................

1 Kings 17:1 Elijah the Tishbite prayed for no rain and there was no rain for 3 and a half years

At this time 1 Kings 17:2 Elijah went to a brook where the ravens fed Him

And there was a famine ! why was there a famine ? because Elijah had prayed for no rain and

this corresponded with Gods will

Now we turn to the time when the famine had overtaken the land and people were starving and dying

O the starvation of people who worship other gods and send their children to the flames !

How many generations will suffer at the hands of mankind unless God intervenes ?

1 Kings 17:14 Now Elijah is ordered to go to Zarephath where a widow is told to supply Elijah with food

Now here in 1 Kings 17:1-24 The women does what The Lord God has ordered and prepared in advance

Here this lady is dying of starvation, in fact the whole land is dying of starvation

the crops and the live stock is dying and the woman here is going out to find the final sticks to

light the final fire for her last meal

And Elijah says :

Quote

"Don’t be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small cake of

bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your

son. 14For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘The jar of flour will not be used up and

the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the Lord gives rain on the land.’

Noe after this the son became ill and Elijah lays upon the son as described above in this study, hand

to

hand and mouth to mouth and eye to eye and the son is brought back to life

Once more as we go forward in the story we see that again Elijah is challenged 1 Kings 18:38

When the real and Mighty God of Heaven sends down fire upon the altar

Here we see the gifts at work but also a continuous story of God and His acts through mankind

The gifting's of Elijah and Elisha 2 Kings 4:4

In this short and brief post we see the continuation of a relationship between Gods anointed

................

This takes us once more back to the book of Job and Job 1:21

In one sense we see the taking away for some

In in another the the giving and multiplication for others
