The gift of salvation

1 Peter 3:20-21  20 who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water. 21 Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you?not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience?through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

Here eight souls were saved, but a few

The Ark being a "type " of Christ and anyone who enters by faith and believes shall be saved

And how do they enter the Ark ? who shall go and tell them ?

Isaiah 6:8  8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, ?Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?? Then I said, ?Here am I. Send me!?

This in turn means that those who do not enter will perish but those who do enter by the narrow door will live

A stumbling block to some 1 Peter 2:8 yet to others the power and life to run the race

Here too Noah preached and foretold /prophesied and proclaimed yet none listened until it was too late

And so it will be 2 Timothy 3 in the end times when there will be giving and taking of marriage and all is well until suddenly like a thief in the night He will come to take His bride

Now align this alongside

Genesis 6:20  Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature

 that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive.  see Matthew 24:37-39

these animals being directed by the clouds of angels to the ark

And we see Peters vision in

Acts 10:11 But he became hungry and was desiring to eat; but while they were making preparations, he fell into a trance; 11and he saw the sky opened up, and an object like a great sheet coming down, lowered by four corners to the ground, 12and there were in it all kinds of four-footed animals and crawling creatures of the earth and birds of the air

Yes the mystery of the calling of the gentiles, saved through faith believing and being baptised through the waters

You could say "along with Noah and His family"

And the sheet enters now the sheet that Peter saw being the Church stretching out across the four corners of the earth

Its commission to go and preach and foretell / that which was foretold and proclaimed

Here in the same way as Moses killed the egyptian slave master and hid him in the sand so to the descendants of Abraham would be as numerous and the sand on the shore - the sand having a multiple meaning being a metaphor as we die to let Jesus live [a type of Moses]

And the body being hidden in the sand a kind of "treasure" that can be found Matthew 13:44

Being a "type" of treasure that needs to be dug up and this being the 2Kingdom of God" or the "scripture" which we dig into to discover the hidden meanings

And so in this we see the seven days Acts 21:4 and the seven disciples John 21:1 becoming twelve

Being sent out two by two Mark 6:7 into the world to preach the gospel proclaiming the news - preaching and foretelling /prophesying and proclaiming the good news of salvation

That none should perish but all should have eternal life, being saved through the waters
