How do we learn to follow God the Father

How do we learn to follow God the Father

Father, thank You for being with us here, for drawing us into a deeper relationship with You, pray that You open our hearts and minds to Your Word, peace and love

Pray that as we look more and more into our relationship with You, that we talk more to You, listen, respond and action what we hear

Bring restoration, renewal, refreshment to each one of us, and guide us always from the darkness to the light, and make our roughness smooth.....through Your Son Jesus....Amen

Ok first week, we looked at talking to Father God....and we put together our own love letter to the Father, as an exercise showing you how to apply that as an example

Then last week we looked at listening to Father God......and we looked at taking a time each day, for Father God, to be still and 'listen' as an example of how you apply listening

This week we going to look at what we do after........after we have talked, then listened

How do we learn to follow God the Father ( His will ) ?

The Gifts talking about them has been big this week in chat, so thought would look at that, to learning to following the Fathers will

The gifts are there for people to use, the gifts used to build up the body, administering grace with whatever gifts you have.....

1Peter4.

7The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. 8Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 9Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.

10Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. 11If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God.

If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever.

Wether they are used or not, depends if people are willing to importantly, talk to AND listen to God, what kind of relationship do you have, then you will know what Gods view and will is in any given situation, because you have heard it, know Gods will through the scriptures, respond and action what they hear

How do we learn to follow God the Father ( His will ) ?

Anyone any thoughts on that?

By having courage and boldness, and talking and listening, and actioning what we hear, knowing His will through what He has spoke and through the Scriptures

People are constantly writing, the inspired working of God in their lives. With God's Gifts and Fruits given to people, and them moving in them, the evidence of God's word is even more. The Light shines brighter, the fruit becomes more evident, with that, so does God.

So God is constantly writing His Word and works, but this is different to Scripture, Scripture is your standard, any alternative or further writings, although inspired, need to align what is wrote in Scripture, we already have, collectively put together into The Bible.

What comes to mind is, God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow..... with that in mind, His Word stands the same yesterday, as it does today, as it will tomorrow, alongside its Author.

also....Romans12

2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

and... 2Timothy3

16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

also a song that comes to mind in this teaching is this....

1. Breathe on me, Breath of God,

fill me with life anew,

that I may love what thou dost love,

and do what thou wouldst do.

2. Breathe on me, Breath of God,

until my heart is pure,

until with thee I will one will,

to do and to endure.

3. Breathe on me, Breath of God,

till I am wholly thine,

till all this earthly part of me

glows with thy fire divine.

4. Breathe on me, Breath of God,

so shall I never die,

but live with thee the perfect life

of thine eternity.

So talk to your Father in heaven, listen to and for His answer, then respond, action and follow Him in that

Also, what would Jesus do? He is your great example of how to live your life, serving.......He came to serve, not to be served

Are we willing vessels for God, for others? Or does Father's prompting often come at an 'inconvenient' time, do we put off until tomorrow what should be done today

Exodus13

21 By day the LORD went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. 22 Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.

also

Psalm42

8“By day the LORD directs his love, at night his song is with me— a prayer to the God of my life.”

See God does not go anywhere, doesn't leave His place from in front of you

He will not leave you nor forsake you...

So what stops us from talking and listening and following in His footsteps?

See i also wonder sometimes about these walls we build

The Holy Spirit teaches you things and lays it on your heart, the bible tells you this

We may have built walls or barriers, thinking it is keeping God out, protecting us from having to 'deal' with whatever, when in fact it is doing the opposite its keeping God in, only when the wall is removed, do you see what is already within you.

Then when you recognise that wall needing taking down, our Father's tenderness heals us, right to the root, to the foundation and cornerstone of that, replacing it with full healing

Remember your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, resides in you, how evident the Holy Spirit is in our lives again you shall know them by their fruits comes to mind

So out of sight out of mind....who's sight and mind, because it isnt Gods, there is no hiding place from God

Your mind will be renewed, He will heal you, the Truth sets you free you are free indeed

Romans12

2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Many of you will know that i have been through counselling of various sorts in my life, and that i was on high dose of antidepressants, now im mentioning this as an example to you, of doing this very thing

With my counsellor i never let him too close, and he knew it, i was too stubborn didnt really let him past first base, let alone near the walls

Only a few months down the line, after my counselling had finished, did i really started looking to God as my counsellor and not my enemy.

This was the beginning of my 'mind being renewed' in this area.

Then next thing i know, im off medications and being sustained by God lol go figure, and been off them not far off 2 yrs now, if only i had done that in the first place

Do we do this with God.......too stubborn to let go let God heal, guide, restore, renew and refresh, to still the mind to hear His voice, to have that loving relationship with our Father, to have His parental guidance

So that was an example of me talking to my Father in heaven, and listening to His advice, then following Him in His will for me, actioning what He spoke, and also of the renewal of the mind, the turning of the stubborness, into perseverance

What keeps us from letting go?

Can anyone think of an example in their own lives, where they talked, listened then actioned what God spoke to them, walking in faith?
